I had a problem with 18.04, I don't now if it is supported now, but 2 years ago it was recommended to use 16.04 instead.

I have seen 3 kind of tutorials for building Petalinux:
1- It uses a BSP
2- It uses an XSA
3- It uses BSP+XSA

What's the difference between those 3 methods?

Sarah I don't have all the information, but from what understand you need to use the flow of generating BSP *and* XSA to allow the deployment of using Xilinx FPGA in an embedded Linux systems development

The XSA is the Hardware description of the platform, the BSP is the software components such as the drivers or kernel modules. The BSP is provided for certain platforms that are fully supported by a 3rh party, but are not necessary (you can use petalinux without a BSP, but will be limited in functionality).

@dh73_fpga what can I do if I want to create a Vitis application (2020.1) but the BSP I have is build under 2019.1.
