Use the telescopic one for everything and try changing the length on different frequencies. The higher the frequency, the shorter the antenna should be. For your first steps use the telescopic antenna at full length.

More important: Fix the antenna on a big piece of metal (baking tray, cooking pot,..) and put it as far away from all electronic equipment as possible.

There are half wave, quarter wave antennas too with different calculations. You will notice a spiral at the base of the antenna

The two antennas are fixed length in noelec bundle, and you can change the length of the telescopic one. The calculation above will help with telescopic antenna.

OK, you can start with those antennas at first and fiddle with them. I personally recommend miniwhip antennas afterwards if you want to listen to HF bands, Shortwave radios etc.
