Что-то изменилось, что не пойму, один и тот же код отдает разную последовательность в выборке из массива. На 1.5 и 1.6. Может такое быть? 😸

Единственно, если это случайная выборка. Они не дают гарантий, что алгоритм построения случайных чисел не поменяется между версиями.

Может это я где-то глючу, но у меня findall отдает разную последовательность, это не проблема, никто и не гарантирует, что последовательность индексов должна сохраняться, но для сопоставления результатов 1.5 и 1.6 пришлось добавить sort после findall.

Нарушение порядка индексов в линейном массиве может быть только если допускается параллельный процесс обработки

Хммм... Самое последнее что я нашёл по
findall (правда это только для Array, хорошо бы тип уточнить) это вот этот PR: https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/pull/37177АО
Но это вроде бы не должно на порядок влиять.

Whats the application of random.seed?
seed allows you to specify the initial value (the seed) of a PRNG (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudorandom_number_generator). It's used to make sure that code which depends on random numbers (e.g. scientific simulations) returns reproducible results — if you and I run some code starting with the same random seed, we should get the same results out at the end. If you don't specify a seed Julia generates one from system entropy.
