as far as i could imagine, one should use
lcp-echo-timeout individually, but in doing so, some pppoe session, which the subscriber has, for example, turned off the CPE, remains active forever...do you use unit-cache feature?

mtu gets negotiated, based on server defaults, min/max values and client ones. so, lcp log is necessary

I use defaults for lcp settings and have no issues. your case looks like a bug. have you checked traffic dumps? maybe some another CPE replies to server?
