I got a seedbox or whatever today (comes with a VPN). Hope it helps. Apparently it downloads in Russia and then I download it from the server. 😞

You should take care of encrypting all your traffic from point to point otherwise your ISP will know exactly what are you doing. But if you say that you're downloading from a server and the letter talks about seeding, probably it's just to alert you, but better safe than sorry.

Yes, DMCA is a totally nonsense in Russia because of difference of copyright laws are much softer than in US, even there are attempts to fight versus pirates. No one is able to tell someone ban some until copyright owner will confirm self and rights to that. So, trolls aren't able to make a fake DMCAs because we have no DMCA :D

Are dmca and copyright laws liberal in Germany?

Idk, I'm not a German, I'm Russian: in Russia is no DMCA or similar law, and the copyright laws are softer: everyone is free to make backups of protected software, everyone is allowed to hack/reseaech any software in condition to get it working when it can't work in pure state because of bugs, or just get the understanding how it works in real. It's a paragraph of the Civil Codex of RF where that specified. Copyruster (a jerk who is copyright owner) can't say "nuke" until he will confirm that he owns that by documents. Otherwise any hooligan would masquerade like copyright owner and cause removal of potentially legal stuff.

Anyway, about Germany, as I know, because in EU are came some jerkish copyright laws like telling to the public services to prevent upload of "illegal" stuff which may also affect Germany too
