Несколько боевых советов, как улучшить разговорный английский за пять минут. Они не заменят годы изучения грамматики и фонетики, но помогут вам звучать понятнее для американца уже сегодня.

– Выучите несколько слов-паразитов и употрбляйте их рефлекторно. Например, "alright", "well", "I mean, yeah..", "I'm just saying that".

Конечно, не менее глупо вы будете выглядеть, если в дружеской беседе переспросите фразой из школы "Could you say that again, please?". Это слишком формально. Просто скажите "Come again?" или "What did you say?"

– В обычной беседе приходится часто выражать понимание или поддакивать собеседнику. В русском это звучит как "понял", "ага", "ну", "точно", "да". Переходя на английский, соотечественники начинают выдавать высокопарные школьные фразы "I understand your idea", "I agree with you.." Это классно, но не всегда уместно. В болтовне с таксистом будут органичнее звучать короткие фразы "right", "yeah", "got it", причем бросать их нужно небрежно.

– Если вы пока не владеете американским акцентом, не пытайтесь его имитировать. Говорите с национальным акцентом, но так, чтобы каждое слово было различимо. Ваша речь станет более предсказуемой. Из-за неправильной имитации американского акцента многие слова становятся совершенно непонятны для собеседника.

You got it?

Somebody here has asked for a tips to learn English. Here's the one:
Do NOT translate it from Russian sentence(s) word by word. Try to build the phrase in English from the very beginning.
I hope there will be no stories like on Instagram or Facebook.

What do you think about the first thing the author suggests? In english those words are called "filler words" and I don't think it's a good piece of advice to learn and use them. These words are basically garbage and they clutter your speech I think. I'd prefer to get rid of them.
If you know abour ielts tests. there is 1of 4 blocks which called "speaking" it means that you must speak on theme which you given whithout stopping around 4-5 minutes, I think filler words give you some time to think about your theme

I think he is saying it will help you to be understood quickly and correctly. But yes, I'm also suffering from these "filler words" when I speak in Russian. 🙈 but the most of native speakers use them, so I don't see any problems in using them if you're not talking to Her majesty 👑☺️

Hi, thanks for stopping by and welcome to our English conversation chat. Here you can talk about whatever you want, no matter where you're from and how advanced your English is.

Your command of language is largely determined by how good you are at writing and reading. So go ahead and get a little better.

This chat is the perfect place to practice these skills. Here you can chat about whatever you like so long as you don't insult other participants.

We have zero tolerance for Russian language here. So you should either speak English or keep away. For those who have low brain capacity, let me put it this way: в этом чате запрещен русский язык. Общение только на английском.

I strongly urge you to form long complex sentences instead of short meaningless ones. This's the way you learn.

Oh, and yeah... no fucking stickers.

Now that you know the rules, I hope you'll enjoy and have a good time here.

yeah maybe. to me it just doesn't sound like a good piece of advice. But I must admit the author himself knows English damn well. Judging by the pinned message, I'd say it was written by a native speaker, so fluid and natural and sounds so English
