Most of these pots are not saying Chromium is being dropped or if it is, not because of the sync tool removal.
The Arch post suggests one developer would stop working on the package if sync was dropped but pointed out others probably would/could maintain it. The Debian post talks about the quality of the package, not the sync issue. Fedora doesn't' seem to be planning to drop Chromium. Slackware I don't think had Chromium to begin with. This seems like an entire non-issue for package maintainers and it doesn't look like the Chromium package is being dropped anywhere.
