In the last year, the Dutch police have made a big effort to tighten on the selling of stolen bikes (as have us, the group admin). If you are caught selling a stolen bike and/or riding a stolen bike you can be arrested for possession of stolen goods. There is a maximum penalty of six months imprisonment or at the least a 400euro fine. So if you are buying a bike as a basic standard ALWAYS check the bike frame number! The number can be found under the bike, or around the seat, or around the front handle bars or by the peddle. Enter the bike frame number in the national stolen bike register and check its not registered as stolen before you hand over any money. HERE:
