На ThinkPad много что стабильно.

Работает отлично. Это главное. Каждый совершает ошибки. Они пробуют. Под лежачий камень вода не течет. Апстарт кстати сама по себе была классная. Я очень растроился в свое время что ее системд вытестило. Но убунту сделали ошибку в том что они сделали обратную совместимость с SysV. А не пошли по пути системд.

У systemd есть слой совместимости с SysV. Только сейчас его, в большинстве случаев, отдельно надо ставить.

Да но он не как в апстарт работает. Систем д вынуждает делать системд юниты или он их сам сделает.

Так и хорошо. Не надо поддерживать баш код. Всё идемпотентно и декларативно, как мы любим!
