Position: Java Software Engineer (remote job)
About the client:
FARM CREDIT BANK OF TEXAS
The cooperatively owned wholesale bank that finances agriculture and rural America. We fund rural lending co-ops, so they can make loans to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, and rural property owners.
The bank is a part of the Farm Credit System, the nation’s oldest and largest source of rural financing.
Project: LoanIQ SDK — development and maintenance of extensions and customizations for proprietary banking software.
Overall tech stack:
Tomcat as a primary app server;
MSSQL as primary persistence engine;
Component integrations through REST, SOAP;
Server-side JS;
Lots of proprietary Java code, custom markups and DSLs.
Secondary:
.Net services running on IIS or Azure cloud;
RabbitMQ and MS ESB;
CI/CD via MS DevOps;
Angular and React frontends.
Required skills:
— 3+ years of experience with Java 8 Core;
— Experience in Unit/Functional testing;
— TSQL stored procedures;
— Patience, adaptability, independent decision making;
— English — Intermediate+ level and above.
Will be plus:
— Experience with creating/maintaining tech docs;
— MS DevOps, .NET Core, Java Reflection, Multithreading, SWT, Longhorn/Rhino, MongoDB.
Responsibilities:
— Code development and testing;
— Requirements analysis, scope estimation, feedback loop with BAs;
— Code review, pair programming, test case validation;
— Support on environment/component issues affecting SDK integrations;
— Preparation of basic design docs and solution runbooks.
