Alex Lovell: Hi all, I am encouraging my fellow employees (around 20 of them) to join me in a mapping session. Is it possible to be allocated a task to a small group of users or is it only possible to select a shared task form those within the available projects?

donalhunt: Having run mapathons in the past, just grab one of the existing tasks and add a comment. It's fairly rare that there is an issue with too many people working on a project.

donalhunt: And to avoid confusion. Individuals "lock" tasks within a project while they work on them. Projects focus on a particular need in a particular location.

donalhunt: So select a project that will resonate with the audience (sometimes there are videos available from the organisation that requested the data). Participants then select tasks within that project to complete.

donalhunt: I typically put up  the stats overlay / map on a big screen so the audience can see the progress being made.

There is still mapping to be done in the areas of #Haiti impacted by the August earthquake.
