⚠️Hong Kong is partially closing its borders in an effort to isolate the territory from the threat of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) - suspending trains and ferry services to and from Mainland China and non-issuance of entry permits to individual mainland travellers effective 12MN on THURSDAY, January 30, until further notice.
⛔️The following checkpoints will be CLOSED indefinitely:
▪️Hung Hom
▪️West Kowloon
▪️Sha Tau Kok
▪️Man Kam To
▪️China Ferry Terminal
▪️Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal
✅While the 3 major border checkpoints in Hong Kong will remain OPEN:
▪️Hong Kong International Airport
▪️Lo Wu Border Crossing
▪️Lok Ma Chai Border Crossing
✈️Flights and cross border bus services to and from the mainland will also be cut down while freight services will continue.
⚠️Hong Kong residents currently in the mainland are urged to come back to the SAR and stay at home for at least 14 days as health precaution.
🟦Earlier today, the government announced closure of public facilities including:
▪️museums
▪️libraries
▪️stadiums
▪️sport centres
▪️swimming pools
▪️beaches
🔺Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam also urged civil servants to work from home as part of a number of measures implemented in the territory to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. However, those who provide emergency or essential public services will still have to come report to work.
