В связи с этим задумываюсь - возможно английский тоже стоит подключить (без всяких там уроков и занятий, а в игровой форме), ведь дети в младшем возрасте гораздо лучше языки устваивают🤔

British english is hard to undersand sometimes if you are a total beginner. There is not much content. But I am sure you'll manage to improve your listening skills with time if you consume enough of their shit.

Well, I have no idea how to help you. British tv shows are not really that fun, and if you find the one you like, you may need to watch it more than one time, repeating phrases after them, and trying to notice what sounds do they swallow.
Or maybe it's just a lack of vocabulary. Anyway, you will figure it our eventually, it doesn't happen in one day
