Job Responsibilities / Role  
• Partnering with DevOps and Infrastructure organisations to develop and deliver best-of-breed solutions for development environment, automated QA (functional, capacity, performance and regulatory testing), CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and alerting, resilience and disaster recovery.  
• Working across Development, QA and Production Support teams to reduce toil by automating all repetitive, predictable tasks.  
• Producing concrete, automatic measurements of key metrics such as uptime, mean time between failures, mean time to recovery, release frequency and size, change-related incidents and others; use them to target and track improvements.  
• Diving into the application code when required and encouraging shared ownership of the platform across functions.  
• Developing shared tools across functions so that all teams have the same toolset and ability to enact change.  
Minimum Requirement  
Strong experience in at least one of these areas, and decent familiarity with all:  
• Java programming (nice to have but not mandatory)
• Linux operating system  
• CI/CD pipelines  
• Containers & Kubernetes

Looking for a DevOps Engineer to help operationalize platforms for data science on AWS. As models, apps, and data pipelines are created and operationalized, the data science team requires engineers with understanding of cloud native technology to develop, manage, automate, and facilitate the operational capabilities of the data science teams. The DevOps engineer joins a small but growing competency within the data science team to operate a variety of analytics products on cloud platforms.

Basic Qualifications

⁃ 4+ years professional experience maintaining AWS infrastructure including VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, EMR, App Deployment, GLUE, SageMaker
⁃ Understanding of administration and security of the AWS environment
⁃ Understanding of compliance requirements within AWS
⁃ Expertise in the deployment and maintenance of infrastructure and applications
⁃ Understanding of data architectures, especially Data Lake and distributed computing
⁃ Linux background (Ubuntu or RHEL)
⁃ Experience in deployment management of containerized microservices platforms
⁃ Tools&Technologies: Kubernetes, Docker
⁃ CI/CD bitbucket pipelines gitops
⁃ Networking expertise
⁃ Coding skills in at least one scripting lang (i.e bash/python/etc)
⁃ Helm charts (understanging umbrella chart)
⁃ Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
⁃ Understanding of basic network services and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SSH)

Responsibilities

⁃ Design and develop cloud infrastructure that is secure and scalable on AWS
⁃ Configure, deploy, manage, and automate AWS cloud infrastructure to be used by the data science team and extended team
⁃ Monitor and ensure the integrity of data pipelines
⁃ Monitor and ensure the validity of deployed AI/ML models
⁃ Administer the deployment, management, and monitoring of applications deployed on AWS via CI/CD or containers
⁃ Ensure the compliance of the data science operations on AWS
⁃ Monitor usage, cost, and implement optimizations of a variety of AWS resources
⁃ Ownership of technical processes on AWS
