it also looked like I could use less ram than 6750 for bitfield, but too late to try all the numbers below the maximum recommended on the plotting chart

pyl on keybase confirmed you can run as low as 3400 (bitfield enabled) with uniform sort up to 4 threads
so I think the new recommendation to people for version 1.0.2/3 will be -b 3400 and leave bitfield enabled
but if they have 1.0.0/1 the old advice stands

Я особо не сравнивал с -е и без. Да и уже не смогу наверное, у меня последний заход идёт с выгрузкой на ССД ) места нет вообще

Т.е. теперь пишут можно запускать версию 1.0.3 с -b 3400 и БЕЗ ключа -e
