The people that researched the US tree with the expectation of getting an F-5 have no reason to be disappointed. Because as we said, one day its likely they will get a version they used and is more relevant too them. But right now, the F-5A is not that version. Its the one intended for export and mostly used by other nations. Nobody has said the US is never getting an F-5, simply they are not currently going to get the F-5A variant that was meant for the export market.
