@bfox_zx yeah we probably need confirmation that tic80 does NOT meet requirements, there's confusion about it.
(I would say no, myself. Because the number of cycles that a modern pc can push at lua is FAR greater than what we had 30 years ago (:  But others may think "well Truck you're old" )

yes, only works for historical 8 and 16-bit platforms (see list) are accepted for demodulation contests, where works must be prepared in advance

participation with tic-80 is only possible in the demoDUELation category, and it will be real-time coding. originally it was planned to do it by olympic system, similar to shader showdown, but most likely it will be a one-hour online-jam, where several participants will code simultaneously.
